Transgender Awareness week 2024

Trans Awareness Week runs every November between 13th and 19th, closing with the Transgender Day of Remembrance on 20th November.

Awareness Week

The awareness week is a great time to ask trans and gender nonconforming friends, siblings, and colleagues what you can do to help them. This may simply be to understand their needs, their concerns, and how lending your voice to supporting them can make a difference.

TDoR

The 20th November marks the yearly Transgender Day of Remembrance. It is a dedicated to honour trans and gender nonconforming people who have been lost to anti-trans violence.

What can I do?

As an individual, letting the trans & gender nonconforming people in your life – friends, family, colleagues, etc – know that you are there for them can help. Promise & commit to be their ally, to listen, and to challenge anti-trans hate & misinformation when you can.

Sharing your experiences with others to help them understand trans & gender nonconforming people are not a threat can be a powerful and supportive action.
