The Temple Centre is an ideal meeting place for us, but it is especially so for those who are blossoming for the first time and who are looking for encouraging support.
The Centre is private and very conveniently located just a couple of minutes away from junction 26 of the M1. There’s free off-street parking away from the main road, and it’s a short walk upstairs to the meeting room.

Getting here
Please note that if you use the Centre’s postcode, NG16 1DP, in Google Maps, it shows a location to the north along the B600. The map below shows the exact location of the Community Centre.
When you reach Nottingham Road (B600), look for the interactive speed sign on the left hand side of the road. The turning into the Centre is on the left and is up a small hill. At the crest of the hill, turn right to come into the car park.
Directions for drivers
Please note that if you use the Centre’s postcode (NG16 1DP) in a sat-nav, it may take you too far along Nottingham Road (B600). If you do use the postcode, please keep an eye for the left hand turning, marked Temple Centre & Methodist Church.
If you’re coming from Nottingham
From Nottingham follow the ring road north towards Junction 26 of the M1. The first big roundabout you’ll come to is the Bulwell Island and you want to take the A610, which is a dual carriageway.
As you travel up the carriagewy, there’s The Nuthall, a pub on the left hand side the dual carriageway. Move into the right hand lane ready for the traffic lights at the next roundabout. This is Nuthall Island.
Take the 4th right which is the B600 (it’s marked on the road surface) signed to Watnall.
Half a mile down the B600, look on the left for a tall grassy bank with trees and there will be a sharp left turn signed The Temple Centre. You may see an interactive speed sign (careful, it’s a 30 here), and the left hand turn is just after this.
The entrance is quite steep, so be ready for it. As you crest the rise of the drive, turn right up into the car park through the gates, and head into the car park.
If you are on the B600 and can see a big bridge – turn around as you’ve missed the turning.
If you’re coming from the M1
From the M1, come off at Junction 26 and turn left on to the A610 towards Nottingham.
Be in the left hand land to take your first left to the B600 signed to Watnall.

Public transport
Trent Barton operate the Rainbow One service which runs from Nottingham to Heanor. There’s a stop near the Community Centre which will mean a short talk on the path and up the stairs to the car park. You can find further details on Trent Barton’s web site.
While the road and pavement have some street lights, please be aware of your safety on darker nights.
Taxis
Our experience with taxi companies has been positive around their acceptance and professionalism.
When booking a taxi you will need to provide the information for the venue and – this next part is critical! – that they will pick you up for the return journey. We have had rare incidents where some a firm will provide a ride to the venue, but won’t collect.
We recommend you book your taxi to arrive between 10.30pm and 10.45pm. As part of the room hire conditions we cannot let you wait in the hallway after 11pm.
⚠️ Nottingham Chameleons cannot provide transport to or from the venue.
You cannot stay in the building after 11PM.
Bikers & Cyclists
We have a Changing Room on site and a place to keep your riding equipment should you need it.
Please note the Centre does not have a bike rack and while off-street, members of the public can gain access to the car park. We strongly advise you to bring a good, strong lock, if arriving by bicycle, motorbike, or scooter.
On arrival
Once you have parked your car or been dropped off by a taxi, please come to the main door. It is automatic and will open for you.
stairs up to the first floor
From the foyer, head straight upstairs. This will bring you to the main meeting room just to your left. We have dedicated changing facilities and a private bathroom with illuminated mirrors.
The upstairs is dedicated to the group, however, at around 8pm, we share the building with another group, so you may bump into people passing in the foyer.
If this is a concern for you, we recommend you arrive around 8.30pm as the Centre and car park will be quieter.
You can arrange to be met by someone from the group if that would help.
